What I was *sure* I knew about College-And What I Learned instead.
Before I enrolled in college at the age of 57, I was certain of a few things:
I knew I wouldn’t do well in college.
I knew my first “college paper” wouldn’t earn me a good grade.
I knew math would be my downfall.
I knew taking two classes every eight weeks would overwhelm me.
There were so many things I just knew.
But today, I learned something that challenged everything I thought I knew:
🎉 I made the Dean’s List for Fall semester.
Yes, there’s still a probation note on my unofficial transcript (that’ll go away soon), but this achievement proves how much we can surprise ourselves when we push past doubt.
The Lesson I Didn’t See Coming
Even if you’re absolutely sure you’ll fail—do it anyway. Take the leap. Face the challenge.
You might just find yourself, like me, standing in disbelief and joy at what you’ve accomplished.
What’s Holding You Back?
Whatever it is you’ve been putting off because you’re afraid to fail, I encourage you to take the first step. You may be just as surprised as I was.
